“Do good work.”
bonum opus faciens
Locally owned and operated in the Cowichan Valley. Focused on safety, efficiency, honest communication, and deep respect for your property.
The Boniface Story
Our name is inspired by St. Boniface, an 8th-century missionary whose legend was immortalized in the felling of a massive tree that was held in fear as sacred and untouchable. In this decisive act he proved that in the difficulty of losing a good thing, better and more beautiful things may take root and grow.
Our motto is “bonum opus faciens” which translates to “do good work.” A simple phrase that nonetheless inspires us to always focus on the good that we are bringing to our community by our services, and that no job or client is simply a means to an end—what is only a few hours of our time is your daily life and peace of mind.
“Whether your vision is more sunlight for you and your family, a view of the sea, a prime building space, a beautiful garden, or just the peace of mind that comes from having healthy, safe trees, we truly want to help make that vision a reality for you.”
What Doing Good Work Means On Every Job
Tree work carries real risks and high consequence. We operate with discipline, respect, and meticulous cleanup.
Deliberate Planning
Before a chainsaw starts, we evaluate drop zones, rigging friction, ground conditions, and nearby utilities. Controlled execution begins with disciplined preparation.
Tidy Job Sites
We believe cleanup is just as important as the takedown. With our mini skid steer, grapple, and high-capacity chipper, your yard is left spotless and usable.
Honest Recommendations
If a tree can be safely preserved through targeted deadwood removal and crown thinning, we tell you so. We never push unnecessary takedowns.
Respect For Property
We protect gardens, driveways, fencing, and lawns. We know this is your home, and we treat it with the same care and respect as our own.
